Story Park
A new play in Astoria Park this June
Fridays @ 7pm - June 12, 19, & 26
Saturday @ 3pm - June 13, 20, & 27
Pause. Shuffle. Play.
Story Park is a new performance event that explores individual isolation and mutual experience in today's world. Built around the events and interactions that take place in a park, real and imagined, Story Park presents snapshots of 20 very different lives, and the landscape that connects them.Audience members will construct their own narrative by observing scenes in any order. They are also encouraged to bring an mp3 player to create a soundtrack that forges a personal, if temporal, connection to the performance.
To participate, enter Astoria Park via the stairs at 19th Street and 22nd Drive. The nearest public transportation is the N/W at Ditmars Boulevard and the Q69 at 21st Street and Ditmars Boulevard.
$5 Suggested Donation.
All performances are weather permitting.
Story Park is conceived and directed by Blake McCarty, with assistance from Heather Heels, in collaboration with Sarah Bellantoni, Margot Fitzsimmons, Caitlin Heibach, Katie Issel, Jennifer Pytleski, Peter Musante, & Isabel Steuble-Johnson.
